In our hometown, much attention is paid to physical education, health and sports work. Lebedyan has its own children's and youth sports school, which was founded in 1961. In 2011, a modern multifunctional sports complex was opened in Lebedyan. The school has glorious sports traditions and a creative coaching and teaching staff. Now the Youth Sports School has 3 departments: gymnastics (photo), volleyball (photo), football (photo). Currently, there are more than 600 children in 39 study groups. The teaching staff sees its main task as attracting as many children and adolescents as possible to systematic sports activities, in preparing high-class athletes.

In general, the Lebedinsky Children's Sports School has many worthy victories for its students. The guys have repeatedly won prizes in competitions at the regional and all-Russian levels. Young gymnasts have repeatedly become winners and prize-winners of regional and republican competitions. In 2008, the absolute champions of the region Nikolai Anurov and Anna Daderko received the title of Masters of Sports of Russia. And in total, over the years of its work, the school has trained five masters of sports, 35 candidates for master of sports, more than three thousand instructors and judges. More than five thousand students received sports categories.
