Development of speech creativity in preschool children

The main condition for accelerating the development of speech activity is the use of various methods of teaching speech, built on the principles of linguodidactics.

Practical methods are typical for the preschool period of speech development:

  • retelling method,
  • storytelling method

 From age to age there is a gradual complication of methods and techniques.

Senior preschool age

Children's speech is amazing, funny and inventive. We often hear from children many interesting sayings, words and funny phrases they have invented, sometimes not even always understanding the meaning of what was said. This phenomenon is called word creation.

Word creation

- a natural way for a child to master the lexical richness of his native language, the most effective way to comprehend many grammatical forms. Active word production promotes the development of speech and imagination, and indicates the child’s creative personality.

Around the 5th year of life, children show an interest in verbal creativity (inventing fairy tales, poems, riddles, fables). This requires children to actively work with imagination, thinking, speech, observation, and the participation of positive emotions.

  • – this is a good opportunity to reveal the creative potential of the child, to cultivate the creative orientation of the individual, which is based on the principles of developmental education, the methods and organization of which are based on the patterns of child development, while taking into account psychological comfort, which presupposes:

1) removal, if possible, of all stress-forming factors;

2) emancipation, stimulating the development of spiritual potential and creative activity;

3) development of real motives.

Conditions for the successful formation of speech creativity

  • carrying out systematic work on the development of children’s speech and teaching their native language:
  • expansion of vocabulary, mastery of grammatical norms and improvement of the sound culture of speech (sound pronunciation and general speech skills), development of coherent speech - dialogical (in communication) and monologue (in retelling and composing one’s own story);
  • timely development of active perception of the artistic word;
  • nurturing a poetic ear and improving expressive reading skills.
