Educational and research project “Miracle garden on the windowsill” in the junior group of kindergarten

Thematic project: Vegetable garden on the window.

In the store, the teacher drew the children's attention to the variety of seeds, flowerpots, trays for growing seedlings, flowers and other plants (palm trees, grapes, etc.). The teacher suggests looking around and forming your questions based on the perception of what you see.

The children asked questions to the sales consultant:

—Where do the seeds come from?

-Who and how grows such beautiful flowers?

— Why is soil from the store healthier for plants than soil from lawns?

— Why are there so many flower pots?

— Are there any differences for planting, or can any pot be used?

-How important is it to care for plants, or can they just be watered?

-How to plant plants correctly?

The teacher drew the children’s attention to the fact that people constantly come into the store and what they buy. Buyers not only buy seeds and flowerpots, they also buy special “feeding” for plants.

And why this is necessary, we’ll ask the seller to tell you.

After returning from the store, the children exchange their impressions. Together with the teachers, they draw conclusions about the usefulness of plants and the importance of caring for them. Together they remember the useful advice of the sales consultant. The teacher suggests choosing the information received and using it while planting a vegetable garden on the windowsill.

Practical part

In the kindergarten group, setting up a vegetable garden on the windowsill.

After analyzing the information received in the store, the children, under the guidance of teachers, began to lay out the fence on the windowsill.

First, they prepared trays and filled them with earth. We looked at the seeds and noticed that not all seeds are the same; garlic is generally planted in cloves, which are used for food, but cucumber seeds can be eaten by birds.

After planting the seeds in the ground, it is important to water the ground so that the seeds “wake up” and begin to germinate.

The teacher suggested thinking: does our window sill look like a vegetable garden? And what is missing for this. Together with the children, the window sill was decorated with attributes and toys corresponding to the theme.

In preschool age, it's time to become a discoverer and explorer of the vast world. Adults at this stage are the main assistants in this. After all, it is on an approving word, help and support that it largely depends on whether preschoolers’ interest in activities will flare up or not.

One of the forms of knowledge of the surrounding world is project activity , which contributes to the systematic assimilation by preschool children of knowledge acquired as a result of practical activities and participant observation. Logically structured activities allow you to lay the foundations for planning, the ability to set goals and achieve planned results.

Familiarization with the growth and development of plants can be carried out in the winter - spring period by growing various crops from seeds and bulbs in the kindergarten premises, using the window garden

The children got acquainted with the works of different writers about vegetables and flowers. We learned to come up with our own descriptive riddles.

In the process of productive activity, children developed creative abilities, fine motor skills, and developed cognitive interest through organizing observations of plants on the windowsill.

Our “ Fairytale Garden ” took 1st place among the groups in our kindergarten.

Decor

Children should be directly involved in the process. They may not be able to plant the seed correctly in the ground right away, then entrust them with an equally important task - registration.

When creating a vegetable garden on a window in a kindergarten, do not forget about decorating it in the form of a fairy tale. By the way, you can use your favorite cartoons as an idea. For example, "Masha and the Bear".

If space allows, you can put a whole onion in the water, and very soon the children will see the fruits of their labors and will even be able to taste a fresh green onion for lunch. It’s just that in a jar it will look boring and not aesthetically pleasing. You can cover the container with colored paper, or ask your mother to knit a cover for it, sew buttons on it, they will serve as eyes and nose. The result will be Chipolino.

Using the same pattern as the sun, make a tree and glue it on the window slope, it will be very beautiful. Place animal figures between the mini-beds. It could be anyone, a hare, a cow, a horse.

There is another great idea - make something like a fence from planks or parts of a construction set and attach it to the windowsill with tape. This structure will serve as a front garden. By and large, you can use anything. You can create garden beds in the cars and use Kinder Surprise toys to enliven the free space.

Original design ideas

The older the kindergarten group, the more responsibility for the garden on the window can be assigned to it. Children will be able to cope with clearing mini-beds of weeds and will be able to monitor the temperature and watering. And come up with interesting ideas for decorating a small green corner. Here, their ingenuity and ingenuity will definitely come in handy. Pieces of cardboard can be used under the fence. And place a scarecrow in the middle of the area.

In the corner where cucumbers grow, right on the fence, you can attach bees made of colored paper. Thanks to the efforts of the children working on the design, the vegetable garden on the window in the kindergarten will look like a fairy tale. Every little thing carries a certain meaning. The task of parents and educators is to explain this to the little ones.

At the top, on the window, you can place small flowerpots with flowers. Surely the girls will be interested in looking after them. At the same time, they will gain new information for themselves. For example, some plants like more moisture and predominantly cold watering, others less. And you only need to water them with warm water. Having learned all this, children will be able to independently care for the plant at home.
