What you need for sand painting at home
Sand painting can be easily done at home. You will need sand and something similar to a transparent table with lighting. You're just thinking about how complicated it is, a table with lighting... Well, let's think a little more, we don't need a sand animation studio, but just let the child draw with sand, without littering, right?
What can you come up with at home? You can look for a translucent container: a tray, a basin or something like that. They can be illuminated from below with a regular table lamp. Yes, by and large, you don’t have to do this either; the child will be happy without the backlight, because playing with sand is so exciting.
For example, a container is quite suitable for containers for sand.
Sand can be bought at a specialized store. You can bring it from the street. Street sand will need to be processed: sifted and calcined in the oven or microwave. If you really have a hard time with sand, then semolina will come to the rescue, yes, ordinary semolina. Its structure is very similar to sand: fine and free-flowing.

Lesson on unconventional drawing in the middle group “Journey to the Sand Country”
Abstract
open lesson on non-traditional drawing in the middle group
on the topic: “Journey to the Sand Country”
goal: to continue to teach children to determine the properties of sand by touch, to activate the words “hard”, “free-flowing”, “cold” in speech. Strengthen children's knowledge about geometric shapes. Develop hand motor skills, perception, thinking, imagination. To develop friendliness and cultural and hygienic skills when working with sand.
Progress of the lesson:
V.: - Guys, do you like fairy tales? (Children's answers)
I love it too! Especially those with good wizards. And therefore
I invite you all to go for a fairy tale today,
You won't find a more interesting adventure!
“And for a fairy tale, you and I will go to a magical land.” But this is no ordinary country, it is made of sand. To get to Sandland, let's stand around the sandbox, stretch out our arms, close our eyes and read our spell:
Look at our palms,
Find kindness and love in them.
- Please open your eyes. We are with you in the Sand Country. Let's say hello to the sand first.
Children: Hello sand!
V.: - Guys, put your palms on the sand and let's stroke it. What do we know about sand? What kind of sand? (dry, cold)
, and if we put sand in a fist and slowly pour it out.
What will the sand become? (loose)
.
Guys, where does sand live? (in nature, at the bottom of the sea)
.
Is sand living or inanimate nature? (inanimate nature)
. What a great fellow you are!
- Now sit down on the chairs. I'll tell you a story about a goldfish.
In the fabulous Sand Country there lived a beautiful Goldfish. All the inhabitants loved her very much, and she loved them too, but she had no girlfriends.
One day the Goldfish learned that cheerful and kind people lived in another country. skillful children who can draw fish. “They will help me,” thought the Goldfish…. And she called our kindergarten. She invites you to her place in Sand Country.
— Did you like the fairy tale? (Yes)
Shall we help Goldfish?
(Yes)
- Then let's get up and turn into fish for a few minutes
Finger game "Fish"
Five little fish played in the river (palms are closed, we perform wave-like movements)
A large log lay on the sand (hands pressed to each other, turn them from side to side)
And the fish said: “It’s easy to dive here!” (palms “fish” perform diving movements with them)
The second one said: “after all, it’s deep here” (we shake a negative answer with closed hands)
And the third said: “I feel sleepy” (palms turn to the back of one hand)
The fourth one began to freeze a little (we quickly pump our palms
)
And the fifth shouted: “There is a crocodile here (palms join and make a mouth)
swim from here so that you don’t swallow it”
(quick wave-like movements)
V.: -Look, here it is a Goldfish. Is it really beautiful? ( children share their
impressions)
.
Children, why did we come to the Golden Fish? ( draw her girlfriends
).
- That's right, come to the tables and tell me, please, what will we use to draw the fish? (using palms, fingers, fists)
Where do you start drawing a fish? (from the body
), and then?
(eyes, tail).
- Well, then get to work.
- What different fish everyone got. And in the fabulous underwater land there are plants. Who knows what they are called? ( seaweed).
What color are they?
(green)
. What else is there at the bottom of the sea?
(shells
). Well done!
- Today, you and I traveled to the fabulous Sand Country, where we helped the Golden Fish make friends and become truly happy, and this is the most beautiful thing - to be a good creator.
I’m in a good mood now, I had a great time traveling with you to the Sand Country. What did you learn? (what is sand like, where does it live
). What's your mood?
I thank your hands and fingers, they played well with the sand today. But it's time for us to return to our kindergarten again.
What drawing techniques can be offered to a child.
-Drawing with a fist -Drawing with a finger -Drawing with the palm -With the edge of the thumb -With the little fingers -With three fingers -At the same time, symmetrically with both hands -Pour the pattern out of the fist
For drawing, you can use any available and natural materials. Everything is limited only by your imagination. Use different simple plots from fairy tales or stories. For example, the simplest thing is to invite your baby to tap on the sand with all his fingers. You will already have a drawing. Think about what it will be, maybe you got fireworks, or raindrops? What happened to the child? Another variant. We need to make a path for the car. You can involve toys in the game. Children 3-4 years old will like this. Those. You need to draw a line in the sand with your finger, straight or winding. The second stage, for example, make a wide path so that the car can pass. You can come up with many scenarios for the game. These include the heroes’ walks through the desert, for example, in which they found an oasis. Sailing on the sea and in the depths of the sea, etc.
Railway playpens on the train, whether to take them or not?
Symmetrical drawing with both hands
A very useful activity, as mentioned above. It allows you to use both hemispheres of the brain at the same time. Such activities allow you to “make friends” between both hemispheres of the brain. The interaction of the hemispheres makes us smarter and faster; it is important to practice such activities from childhood. After all, it is at this time that the brain is actively developing. To start drawing symmetrically with both hands at the same time, you can start from a point. Place the fingers of both hands at this point and begin to draw lines in different directions at the same time. Then the task can be gradually complicated, drawing, for example, the sun and more complex shapes. Help your child unobtrusively. You can suggest adding half of the picture. For example, if the baby is left-handed, let him complete the missing right half with his right hand and vice versa.
What can sand painting be used for, besides art therapy?
Using sand painting, you can teach your child to navigate in space. The tasks are the same as those given to the children in regular preparatory notebooks. This, for example, could be a task to draw an object (a ball, a tree, a sun, a cloud) in a certain area of the sand table. Then you can practice the position “left”, “right”, “down”, “above”, “under”, “above” using toys. You can use sand painting to memorize numbers and letters. For a child, these are still meaningless symbols. You can draw these “symbols” on the sand, involving the child in the process. Show your child how to write and ask him to repeat. Play out situations with letters and numbers. For example, play hide and seek. First you draw a letter, start with simple ones (O, P, etc.). Then you can invite the child to hide the letters, for example, to make a house out of the letter “P”. Experiment with the rest of the letters as much as your imagination allows.
There are many uses for sand painting. Draw, enjoy, develop!
