Having received at their disposal such benefits of civilization as zippers, buttons and Velcro, children no longer automatically acquire the necessary fine motor , their fingers “get lazy” and do not have time to learn together with their owner. The number of children with motor clumsiness is steadily growing, and parents are paying less and less attention to the development and upbringing of their children, shifting all responsibility to kindergarten.
This raises an important problem: how to help a child overcome motor awkwardness. The implementation of the “Tell a Fairy Tale with Your Hands” project helped us find answers to a difficult question.
If we solve the problem together, the result will be much higher. That is why not only middle school children attending the speech therapy center, but also teachers, parents of children, and the music director of the preschool educational institution were involved in the implementation of the project.
Having identified the problem, we set a goal. Implementing a project means solving a range of specific tasks. As the main result of the project activities, a children’s and parent’s festival of the finger theater “Theater on the Palm” was planned. .
But before the children delighted with their performances, a lot of daily work was done to overcome the motor clumsiness of the fingers and hands. Namely: daily physical exercises in classes, dynamic pauses in music classes, massage and self-massage in correctional speech therapy classes, finger exercises, productive activities.
A certain sequence of work on overcoming motor awkwardness from simple to complex has become an algorithm. The work began with determining the muscle tone of the hands, which contributed to the correct choice of massage techniques and self-massage to normalize the tone.
Games without words at first help the child to concentrate on accurately performing movements.
To increase sustainable interest in the future, movements are performed with reinforcement of words, both in poetic and free form.
Children play with great delight with objects of different textures, enriching the sensory experience and dosing muscle effort.
As mentioned earlier, busy parents spend little time with their children. Therefore, an important task was to draw their attention to the problem of children and help them cope with it. I wanted to make communication between parents and children creative, liberated, and help them see a spark of talent in their kids. And help the kids become bright stars. Creative homework assignments for the weekend helped to reveal the talents of not only children, but also parents. The musical director helped select performances, draw up a script and organize the “Theater on the Palm” festival.
Children participating in performances have complex speech disorders and, as a result, are constrained, tense, and try to remain in the background at matinees. The opportunity to speak and express yourself is also a solution to communication problems.
The exhibition of literature on the topic of the project gave parents the opportunity to get acquainted with the variety of forms of work with their child to overcome motor awkwardness, and to choose a form of work that is convenient for them.
As a result, it is important to note that during the implementation of the project, creative interaction between children and parents takes place, aimed at the general and speech development of preschool children:
- active, interested, creative participation of families in the implementation of the project,
- psychological readiness of parents in understanding their child, vision of his talents, capabilities,
- development of parents' pedagogical competence,
- development of thinking, memory, imagination, creativity of children,
- development of communication abilities,
- active formation and improvement of fine motor skills.
